Out of commission after two surgeries, but getting back to it

I’ve been off the radar for the first few months of this year, struggling with health issues that left me wheelchair-bound and dependent on my daughter for any task that meant tackling the three flights of stairs in my building.

After undergoing two joint replacement surgeries—with the second pushed forward due to the severity of my condition—I’m on the mend and finding a silver lining: my six-month-old grandchild and I are racing to see who can walk first!

Re-energized and ready to get back to it, I’m diving back into personal web development projects. I plan to overhaul my current Jekyll setup, either by crafting a brand-new theme or tweaking the classic Minima theme.

Additionally, I’m planning to push beyond my comfort zone with a tech comm YouTube channel. Typically a behind-the-scenes person, I’m challenging myself with a “30-Day Talking to the Camera Challenge” that includes a collection of online prompts that I found here. I’m hoping this will help me loosen up and prepare to start vlogging.

I didn’t sign up for the below course, but this promo video is an excellent demonstration of how the 30-Day challenge works.
